The Chess Drum’s Highlights of 2013!

Happy New Year!

We close the year 2013 on a high note. We have new World Champions… Magnus Carlsen and Hou Yifan. Thus, we have a new era is upon us and anticipation is brewing. What does this mean exactly? Will it translate to more exposure for chess? Will it mean more sponsors? Will it mean another “boom” in chess? These are interesting questions that will be answered in years to come. Daaim Shabazz

Daaim Shabazz is the founder of The Chess Drum, while serving as a tenured faculty member of Global Business & Marketing at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida, USA. He holds a B.S. Computer Science from Chicago State University, an MBA in Marketing and a Ph.D. in International Affairs & Development, both from Clark Atlanta University. He has served the journalist community for more than 30 years and still competes in tournaments occasionally.

    1. It’s almost years at close to 190 posts per year. Had 215 last year.

      It should be exactly 200 posts. Sometimes I forget to include a few in that table. I’ll check later.
