During the 2022 Chess Olympiad, The Chess Drum had an interview with Ian Wilkinson QC who had been picked by FIDE Presidential Candidate Bachar Kouatly as his Deputy President. They are gearing up for the election which takes place at the General Assembly on August 7th. There were four certified tickets.

Wilkinson has been a chess stalwart for the past 20 years holding various positions while also serving eight terms as the Jamaica Chess Federation President. In this discussion, he talks about the qualifications of the two, why he is running, and what he sees as the challenges to FIDE. Take a look!
