2nd qualifier for the Barbados Championship set for June 20th

Allen Herbert of the Barbados Chess Federation (BCF) reports that the 2nd qualifier to determine the last six players for the National Championship will start on June 20th. The eight-round format will be open to all BCF members. The top five players will go on to compete for the National Championship while the 6th player’s performance rating will be matched against the 6th player’s performance rating from the 1st qualifier to determine the 12th player. Defending national champion, FM Kevin Denny will be set to defend his title in August.  Other players already qualifying are: NM Delisle Warner, Dirk Austin, Junior Taitt, Kelvin Daniel and Kevin Greenidge. The Ladies’ National Championship will commence this September.
