Documentary on Black Chess coming August 28th

Kirby Ashley is releasing a short film on Black chess players next month and has produced a trailer. It is basically shot within the Chicago chess scene usually taking place in private homes, coffee shops, fast food joints, barber shops, parks and beach fronts.

Ashley told The Chess Drum,

“I just completed on The History of Chess from Black Point of View. Since your site was such a huge influence on my research for the film, I’ve included a link to my trailer below. It debuts at the Black Harvest Film Festival in downtown Chicago on Friday, Aug. 28th at 8:30pm.”
