2011 Botswana Chess Calendar

Two years ago, the Botswana Chess Federation (BCF) hosted World Champion Viswanathan Anand in what may have been the highest crowned achievement since having Judit Polgar ten years ago.

The President of Botswana Chess Federation Tshepo Sitale shakes hands with Viswanathan Anand during his visit in 2009. The BCF remains active and has a full calendar planned for 2011.

Recently the BCF released their chess calendar for the year and it boasts an impressive array of events including the African Junior Championship in February, the zonal championships in March and Gaborone International in May.
