Orrin Hudson gearing up for "Be Someone Day"

Taking his organization to bigger and hopefully better ventures, many are watching Orrin Hudson's effort of motivating children to "Be Someone." Organizations are beginning to learn the benefits that chess can have in terms of cognitive and emotional development, but Hudson has used chess as a platform for motivation. Hudson will launch a book soon and on May 22nd will host his 4th Annual Be Someone Day in Atlanta, Georgia. There will be fun, food and of course… chess.

Also educator
Howard Berg will demonstrate how accelerated learning strategies combined with chess is the ticket to success.  Mr. Berg has been entered in the Guinness Book of World Records as the "world's fastest reader." Hudson told The Chess Drum that Mr. Berg can read a 300-page book in 10 minutes… with full comprehension. Of course, would have trouble speed-reading a 300-page chess book, but by any stretch, his accomplishments are phenomenal.

The Annual Be Someone Day

National recording artist Arthur Reed will also make an appearance. Without a doubt, Mr. Reed will perform the organization's mellow and inspirational theme song, "You Can Be Someone."  The main attaction will perhaps be chess master Stephen Muhammad, a local favorite and four-time Georgia State champion. Muhammad will give an instructional lesson followed by a simultaneous chess exhibition.

Hudson hopes to inspire and motivate children to understand that "the only thing that will save you is your mind." Make plans to attend "The 4th Annual Be Someone Day" in Atlanta.  Details are below!
