Lateefah Messam-Sparks recently won the under-16 British Girls Championship. Her father Earl King had contacted The Chess Drum a couple of years ago with encouragement from John Tobisch. Lateefah follows another promising player in Sabrina Chevannes who is now studying medicine. Lateefah is eligible to represent England in the World Youth Championships in the under-16 category.
