Due to a number of cancellations for mainly the price entry fee tag on the SADEC event, the tournament has been postponed. The Chess Academy secured a prospective sponsor too late to announce improvements on the situation accordingly.
The SADEC IM event will now take place within two months and will take the form of invitational. Free entry for one player per SADEC federation. Any extra places will be offered at subsidised rates. There will at least be two Grandmasters partaking in the event.
