Team Profile

Led by young  star IM Amon Simutowe, Zambia will lead brings some new faces such as NM Malupande Lungu (no relation to teammate FM Nase Lunge) and NM Stanley Chumfwa. Gershom Musende and Tizenge Mbambara round out the filed.

Zambia has one of the most active Federations on the continent led by
Lewis Ncube, a candidate for FIDE African regional President. In this Olympiad, IM Simutowe has a chance to earn his last GM norm if he repeats his splendid silver medal performance in the 2000 Olympiad.
