Carlsson gets final GM norm in Spain!

BREAKING NEWS! Pontus Carlsson has reportedly earned his 3rd and final GM norm by winning the Torneig Internacional Ciutat de Sóller by a clear point with 6˝-2˝. The official tournament website confirmed this news. His feat makes him the 16th Grandmaster in Sweden. He also becomes the latest confirmed player of African descent to earn the GM rank. He earned his other norms at the 2005 European Cup and the 2nd at Open de Tarragona (Spain). Carlsson lost one game to runner-up GM Karen Movzsizsian of Armenia, but played many powerful games. Movzsizsian and GM Azer Mirzoev (Azerbaiján) tied for joint
2nd with  5˝-3˝.
