Competition was fierce in the 2006 Black History Quiz as approximately 25 persons took a shot at the 12 questions. Warren Elliott of Jamaica got the highest percentage correct with 11/12 followed by Nigeria's Bunmi Olape with 10/12. Texas scholastic standout Stephanie Ballom tied with Okechukwu Iwu and South Africa's Teko Malefane with 9/12. All top finishers will receive a Chess Drum t-shirt and Elliott will also receive a Wilbert Paige booklet.

There were several others who participated from around the USA, Jamaica and Zambia. There were those who answered some of the questions, but did not leave any contact information. Nevertheless, the fact that one can answer a list of Black History questions pertaining to chess is a tribute. Thanks to everyone  who participated! Each participant will receive a gift.
