Terry Farley's key exciting win over FM Philip Corbin in round three provided the confidence needed to catapult him to a convincing tournament victory. Corbin had to withdraw from the tournament due to health concerns. Farley (9½-1½) outpaced defending champion FM Delisle Warner by a comfortable 1½-point margin and was held only by Martyn Del Castilho. Del Castilho gave up a point to rising junior Alex Jackman and had to settle for  3rd on 7-4.  Justin Blackman, another junior and 2006 Olympiad player, came in fourth place.
