Gwaze finishes +4 in British Championship

Despite the banning of Commonwealth players (most notably from India),  Zimbabwe's IM Robert Gwaze participated in the 2004 British Championship and finished on 7½-3½. The tournament was won by Scottish Grandmaster Jonathan Rowson who edged GM Peter Wells and IM Simon Williams (both of England) by ½-point.

Gwaze (2376) was unable to maintain the momentum needed a crucial stages of the tournament and fell behind after consecutive losses to
FM Andrew Greet and NM Jack Rudd. Nevertheless, the Zimbabwe Master finished strong with five consecutive wins including a last-round victory over IM Andrew Ledger.
