Experience "World Open Magic" in Philadelphia!
World Open (June 30th-- July 7th) The 30th Annual World Open will kick off at the Philly Adam's Mark Hotel and is sure to bring its own brand of fireworks during America's "Fourth of July" weekend. More than 1500 participants are expected which will include players from around the world vying for the $175,000 guaranteed prize fund. This tournament has a magical atmosphere and with it comes exciting finishes and hard fought games. Of course the side events are also a big draw like the popular blitz tournament. There always seems to be some new star emerging from this tournament. This tournament often serves as somewhat of a reunion for many chess players given the length of time at the same hotel and the vibrant atmosphere for chess. In addition, to the wonderful atmosphere there are also six spots at stake for U.S. Championship qualification. Come join in the fireworks!!
