Drum Update Coming!

Summer is over… and we're heading toward the tail end of 2002. This year has went by quickly, but the Fall season will bring some exciting events including the 2002 Olympiad. The Chess Drum hopes to provide as much coverage of this event with a specific focus on African and Caribbean nations. Mark Rubery of South Africa did an excellent job in covering the African teams in the 2000 Olympiad.

Within the next 1˝ weeks, visitors will see the September-October issue. In store is a very interesting interview with
Daniel Nsibambi, President of Ugandan Chess Federation, an annotated game by FM Stephen Muhammad, and more! For your information, Mark Holness of the Jamaican Chess Federation has conducted some interesting interviews of Jamaican players and has given consent for use at The Chess Drum. Check out the interviews of Jamaican chess mavens,  NM Shane Matthews and FM Grantel Gibbs! There is also a new profile of one of the most requested pages at The Drum… FM Emory Tate.

In the coming months, The Chess Drum hopes to improve the look and feel of the site in hopes that your experience is enjoyable. Remember… keep the beat going!!
