JCF President to lecture on "Chess and Education"

Jamaica Chess Federation President, FIDE Master
Grantel Gibbs, will conduct a "Chess & Education Seminar" on Sunday, November 17 at the Old Harbour Lion's Club Civic Center beginning at 10:00 AM. Mr. Gibbs will discuss the relationship between Chess and Education, and will also demonstrate the principles of competitive chess for the benefit of the chess teams from St. Jago High School, St. Catherine High School, and Glenmuir High School. The Seminar is open to the public.

FM Elliott's simul highlights Liguanea CC's 4th Anniversary!

Jamaica National Chess Champion and FIDE Master (Elect)
Warren Elliott will conduct a simultaneous exhibition on Sunday, November 24 at the University of Technology (UTECH) Auditorium. FM Elliott's simul will be one of the main attraction at the 4th anniversary celebration of the Liguanea Chess Club. The Champ will play all Juniors in attendance at the  Club's 4th Anniversary Blitz regardless of the number of players.

FM Elliott recently retained his Jamaica National chess crown with an exciting record breaking 9-0 performance, and gained the title of FIDE Chess Master at the recently concluded Sub-Zonal 2.3.5 Regional tournament in Meridia, Venezuela. Elliott is also the Technical Director of the Liguanea Chess Club.
