chess24.com launches Olympiad website!

Amidst the recent launching of chess24.com, award-winning journalist Macauley Peterson told The Chess Drum about the newly-released Olympiad website. The invitation was released by FIDE recently and it appears that everything is fitting into place. While the site is still skinny on content, it will serve as a portal of information about “all-things-Olympiad”.

Chess24.com features an interactive board, exercise, a library of videos and games. The multimedia aspect will make available live broadcasts of top events and perhaps the Olympiad will be the ultimate testing ground for much of the signature creativity of Peterson. There more on the chess display technology…

Every board is playable on chess24 — you can be watching a broadcast, or a learning video, and at any time just start playing your own variations.

Of course the site is in its infancy, and there’s a lot more to come, but I hope you’ll give it a look and let me know what you think.

You can read news and access basic features as a guest, but register a free account to access more of the site.

Not only is Norway the home of the World Champion, it is hosting a historic event in the scenic city of Tromso. chess24.com will be on site ushering in a new era of websites with live coverage. While chess enthusiasts kick the tires on the new chess24 site, it will give them a chance to sample the broadcast that is sure to make Olympiad coverage a trendsetter.
