U.S. Champs starts with a bang!

With the World Hall of Fame and the world’s biggest chess piece as its backdrop, the U.S. Championship got off to a blistering start. There were some good games and there were some absolute clunkers. There was even a hung piece on move 11 by a Grandmaster. With 8/11 decisive games, perhaps it is the $64,000 prize for an 11-0 score that has encouraged players to come out blazing!
