Robinson in Turkey for U-16
Darrian Robinson is in Antala, Turkey for the World Youth Championships. She is one of 25 players from the U.S. participating in the annual event and will play in the under-16 event.
The tournament has six age categories and will feature young talent from countries in the world. This tournament is not as strong as the World Junior tournaments, but does offer the titles of “World Champion” for age groups.
This is Robinson’s second trip to Turkey having participated in the World Youth in 2006. Since then she has improved her game and reached the level of “Expert”. This tournament may give her an idea of how far she has come in the past three years. Her FIDE rating is 1931.

The South African and Kenyan coaches said hello and the chessdrum is a well known website. I have pictures for you upon our return. She is playing well and her losses are good, tough and close; she is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
