Team Profile

Steven Kawuma, a recent engineering graduate from Makerere University will man the top board due to his status as National Champion. Grace Nsubuga is making his 3rd consecutive trip to the Olympiad and will provide leadership on board #2. Issac Munanira and Stephen's older brother Moses Kawuma make up the starting four.

According to a recent article on the team most of the team's players adopt a positional style of play, but Shadrack Kantinti "…has no fears about sacrificing material to opponents." Kantinti has won the national blitz crown many times and is perhaps known for his wild game in the Bled Olympiad against Malta's Colin Pace.
