Team Profile

Canada has developed a bright star in
Pascal Charbonneau (pictured right), who has earned the two norms for the GM title. This year's edition of the Canadian team is strengthened by three other GM-class players, Dmitri Tyomkin and returnee Alexandre LeSiege and the remarkably-talented GM-elect Mark Bluvstein.

The 16-year old Bluvshtein has actually earned three GMs and is known to be mature beyond his years. Unfortunately, a running dispute over board order has deprived the country of the services of Kevin Spraggett. Nevertheless, this team should improve on their Bled performance and perhaps score a couple of upset wins over decent teams.
