Team Profile
Kenya has been considerably active in the East Coast of Africa. With an active neighbor such as Uganda, the Kenyan chess mavens often trek across the west border to do battle.
Kenya has participated in several Olympiads and were led by Humphery Andolo in the 2000 Olympiad. This year past Olympian Nathan Ateka will join the Kenyan side. Having missed the 2000 Olympiad, he certainly remembers the heart-wrenching loss to Trinidad's Christo Cave in the 1998 tournament. He plans to bounce back.
