Team Profile

The chess mavens from "Jam-Down" will arrive in Slovenia with confidence as they attempt to improve on the 2000 Olympiad campaign. This team will dearly miss the services of FM Grantel Gibbs, but will be lead by a dynamic trio of NM Shane Matthews, NM Jomo Pitterson, and FM Warren Elliott.

These three chess mavens have been dominating the island's tournament circuit for the past several years. The strength of this team will be the interchangeability of the three boards along with the talented
NM Duane Rowe who is participating in his second consecutive Olympiad. NM Robert Wheeler will provide veteran Olympiad experience to balance the inexperience of  Mark Smith who is playing in his first international event.

Jamaican players tend to be highly theoretical and will be well-prepared to battle with world's best! If the top trio can play like they're capable of playing, the Jamaican side will bring some surprises!
