As part of an initiative to move into Web 2.0, The Chess Drum has released  its first "gamecast" video featuring chess icon Emory Tate's win over Salvijus Bercys. The audio segment was done at the 2007 World Open when Tate offered to show his game to chess fans.

The audio segment was combined with screen capture technology and the ChessBase interface. It uses Macromedia Flash animation and will provide a better medium for viewing game. While the site will still have the regular java games, the gamecast will become part of the genre of offering at The Chess Drum.
