Invitation to the Suriname Open Chess Tournament
We are pleased to extend an invitation to you to participate in our bi-annual international tournament which will take place from October 25 - October 29 , 2007 in Paramaribo, Suriname at the Maretraite Mall.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Venue: Maretraite Mall, Paramaribo North
Format: 8 rounds Swiss event
Time Control: 1 hour 15 minutes for all moves plus 30 seconds increment from move one
Tiebreak:
1) Bucholz and median Bucholz
2) Direct encounter
3) Sum of the Progressive scores
4) Sonneborn-Berger

REGISTRATION
US $ 25,- Payment for overseas players will be done at the hotel.
Accomodation: The Surinaamse Schaakbond will provide accommodation and meal allowance for one (1) player from each invited Chess Federation. We will also provide accommodation and meal allowance for one (1) player from each invited Chess Federation with a FM title from the FIDE. Transportation for all players will be provided by the Surinaamse Schaakbond. For accompanying players and officials the Surinaamse Schaakbond can arrange hotel accommodation in double and triple rooms for US $ 27,50 per person.
PRIZES
First Place: Trophy plus $ 250,-
Second Place: Trophy plus $ 125,-
Third Place : Trophy plus $ 75,-
Fourth Place: Trophy plus $ 60,-
Fifth Place : Trophy plus $ 50,-
Age category Prizes: First, Second and Third place Trophies will be awarded in the age categories Under 16 and Under 20.
Female Prizes: First, Second and Third place Trophies will be awarded for the best female players.
Eligibility for prizes: A player who wins one of the Major prizes will not be eligible for one of the other prizes.
