ENTITLEMENT

The winner of the championship earns the first right to represent Jamaica at regional and international junior chess tournaments until 2008. These include most importantly the Sagicor Open Junior Chess Tournament to be held in Barbados and the Trinidad and Tobago Junior Open.

FORMAT

Six Round Swiss (2 Rounds on Each Day)

TIME CONTROL

Game in 65 Minutes with 30 second increments added for each move played starting with move one (1)

ELIGIBILITY

The championship is open to all players that were
below the age of 20 on January 1, 2007.


ENTRY

Registration - Saturday March 03, 2007
Registration for round 1 takes place between 8 am and 9:45 am.


ENTRY FEES

$600
All entrants must be paid-up members of the
Jamaica Chess Federation.

Membership fees -
Juniors- J$1,000 per year or J$500 for 6 months

REMEMBER THAT 'FREE ENTRIES' EARNED IN OPEN TOURNAMENTS CANNOT BE USED FOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS

NOTES!!
Only one (1) half point bye will be allowed for any one player in the tournament. This bye may be claimed for any of the rounds from 1 to 4. This bye must be claimed however before the start of round 1 and entry and membership fees must be paid up.

The Jamaica Chess Federation reserves the right to amend (within reason) any of the guidelines indicated above at any time but with due notification to all stakeholders
