GM Maurice Ashley is scheduled to visit his native land of Jamaica for the Fred Cameron Open on December 15-16. Jamaican Chess Federation President Ian Wilkinson also told The Chess Drum about the launch of a new initiative on Friday, December 14, 2007 at 5:30 pm. This organization is called the Magnificent Chess Foundation and the event will be attended by the Governor-General of Jamaica.
DATES: Saturday 15th December, 2007 and Sunday 16th December, 2007.
VENUE: The Jamaica Conference Centre: 14 - 16 Port Royal Street, Kingston.

FORMAT: Six-round Swiss
SCHEDULE: Three Rounds each day
TIME CONTROL: Open Section - Game in 80 minutes
Amateur and Unrated Sections - Game in 65 minutes
REGISTRATION: This will be possible from Monday, 26th November 2007 to Tuesday 11th December 2007. Players may register with MISS SASH-NICOLE NOBLE, MISS AISHA, THOMPSON or MISS SHENA FINLEY of MAGNIFICENT CHESS LIMITED at 10 Swallowfield Road, Kingston 5. Registration will take place within the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the above address or at 968-0513.
