Bertram Scott of the Jamaica Ambassadors Chess Academy has reported that Ian Wilkinson, President of Jamaican Chess Federation recently starred in a charity soccer match. The tireless chess don earned the moniker "Dribbleino" for his dazzling dribbling skills. The match took place in Buttercup Park in St. Andrew, Jamaica on New Year's day. Wilkinson's team won the match 2-1.

The article talked about Wilkinson soccer skills as a youth and some memorable moments as a student at the prestigious Kingston College. His passion on the football pitch would later be transferred to the chessboard and Wilkinson has held the reigns as the President. Scott reports,

"Besides being the president of the JCF, Wilkinson is also a prominent attorney, a senior lecturer at the Norman Manley Law School (Mona Campus), and has also emerged as a formidable chess player on the local scene. Wilkinson boast two recent victories over the tough national chess master, Shane "The Magician" Matthews, and has achieved a local chess rating of 1926. The JCF President also wrote a chess book titled "Magnificence in Bled", and has another chess book scheduled to be released very soon."
