Trinidad's RJ Nelson Going for Glory

Ronnie "RJ" Nelson continues his march to national prominence after winning the Trinidad and Tobago under-10 championship with a perfect score. His unbeaten string continued when he scored a 7-0 blitz of the field at the Vikings Junior Chess Tournament, at the Preysal High School.

He won another junior tournament before playing in the
Ken Phillip School Championship. He was participating for the Arima School Boys' R.C. and again scored a 7-0 for 1st prize on board #4. Arima won the Challenge trophy followed by Holy Name Prep, Blackman's  and Tunapuna Boys' R.C. Pre-tournament favorite Christian Academy had to be content with 5th place.

The young "Caribbean Tiger will be representing Trinidad and Tobago at the upcoming Commonwealth Games.
