Bltizkrieg Boys schooling Little Giants

The Blitzkrieg Boys (left) dismissed the Little Giants (right) 3½- ½ on Sunday to take a commanding three point lead of the LASCO Chess League.

The Blitzkrieg Boys registered emphatic 3.5 - 0.5 victories against both Varcon CC and the Little Giants over the weekend to lengthen their lead atop the LASCO Chess League.

The Boys are now on 24.5 points, three full points ahead of their nearest rivals Knightmares, who took over the chase of the leaders from Varcon CC who, after losing to the Boys on Saturday, were defeated by the Knightmares 2.5 - 1.5 on Sunday.

Varcon are now in third place on 19 points, 2.5 points behind the Knightmares, and 1 point ahead of the Gladiators who are on 18 points. The rest of the standings are King Rippers 11, Reggae Knight 9.5 and Little Giants 4.5.

The tournament takes a break this weekend as the
2006 Robert Wheeler Chess Open will be staged at the Guardian Life Building on Trafalgar Road. The League continues on May 13 with the playing of Round 10.
