Peter Myers, "Wilson takes under-18 Chess Crown,"  11 July 2005 (Clarendon, Jamaica)

Ardenne High sixth former,
Brandon Wilson, is the new National Under 18 Chess Champion. Wilson secured the title over the weekend by scoring 4½ points from 5 games, as the curtains came down on the National Age Group Chess Championships at the RBTT Bank Headquarters in New Kingston.

In the top-of-the-table final round clash on Sunday, Wilson put away Camperdown's
Damion Davy with masterful ease to cap off a good junior season, which saw him finishing as runner-up in the National Junior Championships and captaining Ardenne to second place in the National Schools Chess Championship.

Second in the Under 18 Championship went to reigning National Junior Champion,
Christopher Buchanan of Campion College, who finished ahead of Glenmuir's Walter Williams on tiebreak, as both players ended on 4 points.

Williams took the National Under 16 title ahead of Davy and
Phillip Pryce, who both ended on 3½ points. Davy was awarded second place on tiebreak.
