FM Warren Elliott has hit his stride with his 4th win in a row. He leads the field after seven rounds with an undefeated 6-1. Jomo Pitterson and Russel Porter follow on 5-2. Elliott is trying to win the crown for the 3rd time in five years.

In round 8, the key matchups will be the
Pitterson-Elliott and the Matthews-Porter battles. These will set the tone for the remainder of the tournament because  the four players represent the strongest players in the top positions. Pitterson has the toughest schedule and has yet to face Elliott, Porter and Duane Rowe.
