GM Polgar visits Dallas' St. Phillips School!

In the aftermath of an intense training tournament, GM Susan (Zsuzsa) Polgar visited the University of Texas-Dallas (UTD) to personally offer her congratulations to the 2004 Pan-American Collegiate Champions. Polgar had previously spent several days in Stillwater, Oklahoma with her Olympiad teammates participating in a training tournament. Polgar won the training tournament 6-0 (with a 2600+ performance).

After leaving Oklahoma, the four-time World Champion Polgar traveled to Dallas and was received by
Dr. Tim Redman, the UTD coach. She proceeded to address faculty, staff and students in a spell-binding presentation. Also during her visit to UTD, Polgar took time to visit St. Phillips  School in Dallas.  This  school has a chess program with enthusiastic students run by IM Amon Simutowe, a student at UTD. Simutowe remarked, "It was a great honor for her to stop by and motivate the kids."

Note: FM Paul Truong states that the new Polgar Super Chess Center will officially open on February 26, 2004 with the official GRAND OPENING taking place on March 7, 2004 from 2:00 - 8:00 PM. He invites all guests to come by the center at 103-10 Queens Blvd. Forest Hills, NY 11375 (www.SusanPolgar.com).
