IM Amon Simutowe is pictured (left) before beating IM Rade Milovanovic in their last-round encounter. Simutowe would place second with 4-1 in the Texas Class Championships behind IM Magesh Panchanathan's 4½-½. Simutowe's sole loss was to Michal Kujovic who also beat GM Marci Kaminski.
