NM Glenn Bady "Challenging Heads" in Philadelphia!

When meeting NM Glenn Bady, you may notice his easy-going demeanor and natural smile. A native of Philadelphia, he starred in scholastic chess, and later earned the title of National Master.

With an obvious zeal for the game of chess, he has become a successful  coach with his "Challenging Heads" Chess Program, and has taught the essence of higher thinking skills in children ages 5-15. Bady extols the merits of chess in an attractive  brochure describing his program. If you think this is just a self-promoting venture and an attempt to offer false promises, here is a testimony from a teacher at the
Ancillae-Assumpta Academy:

"Children in my class have improved their vocabulary and comprehension. I have seen increases in problem-solving and critical thinking skills. After six weeks in Glenn's chess class, it is easier for me to teach them how to solve math word problems. I would recommend that every student learn chess."

One of Bady's prize pupils is 12-year old Akeem Gregory-Thompson, a rising star in the Philadelphia area. He has also helped the legendary Vaux Junior High School, a chess powerhouse having won a boatload of awards at the national level. Bady suggests, "The only way you will get good at it, is to play it. Besides it's a fun way to learn how to think and concentrate."
