Burger King honors GM Maurice Ashley for Black History Month!!

One of the world's most recognizable hamburger franchises has honored one of the world's most recognizable chess players for their Black History Month's "Everyday Heroes" segment. GM Maurice Ashley is featured with  a number of  other outstanding individuals  in various fields.  Each calendar is being distributed during Black History Month at Burger King locations in the U.S. There will be a total of 2.5 million calendars per picture.

The 35-year old Brooklyn resident is the Director of the
Harlem Educational Activities Fund (HEAF), a non-profit organization helping young students realize the full potential of their intellectual and analytical abilities. This program serve as a college "feeder program" as it helps to prepare students for higher education.  GM Ashley has continued his stellar work as an "Ambassador of Goodwill" and recently hosted his 3rd Annual Harlem Chess Festival.

As a world-class commentator, accomplished coach and player,  GM Ashley has ignited a bright light in thousands of children… many of whom will one day realize the impact GM Ashley has made on their lives.
